The switch has been touched by every guest who has stayed in that particular room. This screams one thing: bacteria! Don’t Change The Bedspread

The more colorful they are, the worse it is, as the color helps hide all kinds of stains. The bedspread is used by one guest and then the other without even being cleaned.
Don’t Clean Throw Pillows
What do you do with a throw pillow as soon as you go to your hotel room? Throw it on the gross carpet. It eventually does get back on the bed; either you put it back or housekeeping does. Just imagine all the germs and bacteria being transferred. Also, they hardly ever wash the throw pillows.

Hotels often don’t change towels. By not changing towels, they avoid washing them. This reduces the cost of water, detergent, labor, sewer, and energy. This cut-back is actually beneficial for the environment as laundry is the cause of a hotel’s 16% water usage.
Skip Cleaning Days Completely
Last but not least, many hotels skip cleaning day as a whole and are even upfront about it. They either offer their guests credit for not having a cleaning day or charge extra for daily cleaning. This is a major saving for the hotel.
