Best Spring Cleaning Tips And Hacks

Doormats

To refresh the doormats, hose off and air-dry mats—vacuum doormats from both sides. Going over the backside will push trapped dirt out on the floor to be easier to pick up.

Phone And Other Electronic Devices

You probably know that our cell phone suppresses more germs than the toilet seat. Wipe your phone with a microfiber cloth with a Lysol wipe. Leave it for 5 minutes before wiping with a microfiber cloth or paper towel once more. This same process works well with other electronic devices, like a computer mouse or TV remote.

Electronic Screens

If your computer monitor or TV screen shows smudges, fingerprints, and dust, you can clean it off with coffee filters. The coffee filters’ fibers are gentle enough to rub, even on delicate TV screens.

Bathroom

Use White Vinegar To Beat Shower Head Buildup

Mineral deposits accumulate in showerheads over time that can cause reduced pressure. Pour white vinegar in a plastic bag, tie it up with a rubber band over the showerhead and leave it overnight to get rid of buildup.

Shower Drain

To freshen shower drains and keep them free-flowing, mix half cup baking soda with one-fourth cup table salt. Put the mixture down the drain with one cup of heated vinegar. Let it still for 15 minutes. And keep running hot water for at least 20 to 30 seconds.

Makeup Cabinet

A quick way to declutter is by getting rid of expired makeup, hair products, and skincare. Many products say how many months the product will last after opening, but not all products note an expiration date.

Makeup Brushes

Squeeze a few drops into your palm of Dawn dish soap or baby shampoo and rub the bristle tips of your brush into the soap to break down the oil-based concealer and foundation, then gently work the suds through them. Hold the brush and rinse under warm running water. Shake the brush and lay the brush down on a paper towel for drying.

Bedrooms

Mattress

To clean the top and sides, press firmly with your vacuum’s crevice tools and upholstery. Sanitize your mattress with a disinfectant spray after vacuuming. You can also use a garment iron or steamer to kill dust, insects, and bugs near the surface.

Closet

Go through your closet and pick out the clothes you no longer wear. Remove anything stained, worn out, or in need of repair. Put in spring and summer clothes and try on anything you’re unsure about before putting it in the closet.

Don’t Forget About The Air

Replacing HVAC filters and the furnace is one of the most critical and overlooked parts of spring cleaning. Consider replacing a standard filter with a more powerful one with a high MERV rating. It will help keep you and your family healthier in spring. It’s an inexpensive way to make sure you’re breathing healthy and clean air.

It will catch irritating and smaller particles. A/C ducts make up dust during winter, and improved filters catch unwanted particles, so they don’t enter your area.

Final Words

After the spring cleaning, give your indoor a new tone like adding new colorful pillows, hang art, place flower pots, etc. These are great ways to change up your home. Transform your rooms for spring weather ahead with more items you like around you.
